Shine When It's Your Time
How frequently do we compare ourselves with others? The perfect family, the great communicator, the calm, collected, non-reactionary parent?
I had attended a workshop years ago and one of the defining concepts I took away from that was that:
"We compare the insides of us to the outsides of others"
In other words, we know every mistake, every wrong reaction, every embarrassing aspect off our lives yet, would anyone looking at us from the outside see our insecurities?
Unlikely, unless we have a very secure relationship with them. Is it just a little bit possible that the people we admire or compare ourselves to have some of those insecurities as well?
Therefore, how can we possibly compare the inside of us to the outside of others? We can't!!!
"Don't compare yourself to others. Be like the sun and the moon and shine when it's your time!"
